The VSANNJ organizes informative and uplifting day excursions twice a year for members and their guests. Visits often include elegant mansions and beautiful gardens. Lunch and transportation are provided.
Past trips have included Olana, the magnificent Persian-style home of Frederick Church; the antique-laden house and lovely gardens of Caramoor; Hill-Stead Museum in Connecticut; the Vanderbilt Mansion and the Wilderstein estate — to name just a few.
Fall Trip – Thursday November 15, 2018
Philadelphia Museum of Art and Rodin Museum; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Spend a day surrounded by exquisite creations. First visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art and view innovative examples of haute couture fashion at an exhibit entitled “Fabulous Fashion: From Dior’s New Look to Now,” then enjoy amazingly detaile Victorian fashion dolls at an exhibit entitled “Little Ladies: Victorian Fashion Dolls and the Feminine Ideal.” Next is a visit to the Rodin Museum where our group will see magnificent sculptures of Auguste Rodin housed in an elegant Beaux-Arts style building and garden. Lunch will be provided. Bus departs West Orange at 7:30 am and returns at 6 pm. Cost is $95 for VSA members and $105 for their guests.
